Course Format
We offer several different formats for studying our Core Curriculum. Choose between our engaging live sessions and flexible on-demand materials, and personalize your learning journey.

For each level, we have two courses available: A and B.

Level 1A
Reading: Series of Short Stories. "The Gift of the Magi," "The Sniper," and "The Necklace

Level 1B
Reading: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Course 1A
In this course, we have four primary objectives:

How to Read
Active reading, annotation, and understanding themes, symbols, and motifs

Sentences
Understanding sentence types, complete sentences, and combining sentences

Paragraphs
Learning the four fundamental types of paragraphs and how to connect sentences logically

Short Story
Put it all together by getting creative and writing an original story using a plot diagram
LIVE Fall 2023 Semester
SEPTEMBER 8 - DECEMBER 13, 2023 (12 Weeks)
- 2 Hours of class per week
- 1 hour of LIVE lecture
- 1 hour of LIVE 1:1 sessions to review course material!
- 10-12 graded assignments and detailed feedback from an EWC editor
- 12-15 Hours of on-demand videos covering lecture materials for review

Analytical Essay
Focus on expository writing and put together an academic paper analyzing the text

Creative Writing
Time to get your creative juices flowing! Write a creative piece based on the reading
